Blog Category: No Category Blog Tags: No Tags A woman I used to work with and who was a close friend and neighbour of my Wife before we got back together has just lost her six year old daughter, here's the story from our local paper. Tributes to Shannon By Joanna Wardill DOZENS of flowers and teddy bears have been left at the gates of a Castleford school where a six-year-old girl died on Wednesday. Young classmates and family members have been leaving their touching tributes at the gates of Redhill Infant School in memory of Shannon Louise Hennessey, who died after choking on her school dinner. Shannon's mum Toni Bennett spent about 20 minutes at the school early on Thursday morning to read the tributes and leave a big brown teddy bear. A note attached to the bear read: "Our darling daughter. Miss you so much. Sleep well darling. We will be together soon." Shannon's cousin Carrie Gledhill, 15, left a note nearby which said: "I will never stop thinking and loving you. Your smile warmed me up. Your little cheeky laugh made me smile. Your heart was full of love. You will never leave my heart. You are my bright star." Another note left by Shannon's uncle read: "To my little flower. We will miss you always. Your little smile and laugh lit up all our lives. We will never forget you. All my love always, uncle Shauny." Her aunt's note said: "I will miss you so much. Your little smile and your cheeky laugh. Love you always, auntie Debbie." A parent at the school told the Express as she left flowers: "She was a lovely little girl. It's a big shock. That phone call could have been for any of the mothers. I just feel sorry for Shannon's mum." Her daughter – a classmate and friend of Shannon – said quietly: "She was only a little girl." 08 November 2006 Toni and Kev know that our thoughts are with you in what must be your darkest of hours.
